Ms. Nomtandazo Thandi Moyo has been in the public service for over 24 years (local government, provincial and national government). Prior, worked in the NGOs in the Training and Development sector. She has been appointed the Deputy Director General for Rural Development in the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development from 1 March 2022. She was the Chief of Staff for the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development for the past 2 years. Occupied positions as Special Advisor to the Minister of Home Affairs and Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Government Printing Works. Deputy Director and Director positions in the Office of the Premier, Gauteng Province. Head of the Office of the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan. Chief of Staff and Chief Director Provincial Technical Support Co-ordination in Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA). Prior to joining the government of South Africa, her career began at a training NGO called Community Based Development Programme which was providing training programmes for community development activists.
Corporate Governance: She also held positions as the Vice-President of SA Printing Institute and Board Member at Sterkfontein Hospital.
Academic: In possession of an Honours Degree in Development Studies, Bachelor of Arts degree in Human and Social Sciences specialising in Political Leadership and Citizenship with the UNISA. Qualifications in Training and Development Management with UJ (former RAU) and Project Management. Currently studying Mphil in Corporate Strategy with the GIBS, University of Pretoria.
Author of the Book: Journey with an Angel-Malaika and writes various Christian reflection and faith building articles. Director of Malaika’s Helping Hand, a humanitarian NGO.
