- It was exciting to listen to Bill’s interview. The interviewer was perfectly right. I also want to be part of the climate change and food security solution as well as to be rich….
- The event was one of it’s kind as the subject of discussion really touched on critical matters facing most and/or all African nations. The discussion should also have been lengthy. It was too short!
- God
bless you.
- It was was very helpful to me
- We need seed money for food security and climate change.

Share so we can build something in Tanzania
- The odience should have included some private consultants and agriculture officials with a wider knowledge of the challenges faced by farmers.
- No all was clear
- Appreciation only
- It was nice
- Good
- Allow the virtual audience to ask questions
- When we look at the current population statistics, we find that a high number of people do base on hand to mouth survival strategy, it sounds nice when there is an extension in mobilization and sensitization about more strategies of increasing food security with the increasing population, not only hand to mouth but also securing some for un-prepared changes in climate.
- I wish the foundation would give applied research grants competitively, personally I wound apply and if given, I definitely would do something very significant with real world lasting solutions. I have started at the Nyeri National Polytechnic but with a little push I would do more, I believe so many other people out there would contribute if given wings to fly.
- Nope, just appreciate Bill Gates
- Will endeavor to make alternative internet provisions in the future.
- it’s awesome
- Try to allow spontaneous questions, those raised seemed to market bill and Melinda gates Foundation

- Yes; in view of the fact that Kenya together with other East African countries have a vast area of arable land, including (ASAL), appropriate capital investment should be encouraged for drip irrigation in order to ensure and enhance long term food security objectives.
- It was good and such talks should be encouraged
- Having a vision is one vision but cering a vision and having every one support it that is success..
- Thank you Gates Foundation in being in the forefront of solving many humanity crisis…pandemics, hunger, climate change to name a few. Humanity thanks you!
- Thank you for the opportunity to participa
- Would have loved to hear a broad number of areas that Bill &: Melinda Gates are involved in e.g Dignified Toilets.
- Innovation for food security and climate change should be linked to entrepreneurship
- I attended your event featuring Chimamanda and Melinda French Gates, I loved it. I loved this one too, verrrryyyyy much. Always email me your events, I will create time to attend them. Oh one of my staff. Thanks Teresa Clarke for the wonderful job you’re doing.
- More time to fieldquestions
- I was very interested on farming more around biodiversity and integrated farming. Where does Ii get little fund to see my vision?
- Thanks for bringing us in the room with a major funder like Gates
- The registration was easy and simple and the event met my expectations. Great job
- So nice and wonderful and strongly advice for more of such continuously by different people also and let us learn from their wealth of experiences.
- Important that event was widely attended in person and virtually. Any discussion will generate thought & plans. Hope this works. Give feedback in 6-12 months.
- more frequent
- I would like you to allow me to send you some research papers related to the matter discussed in this event, as well as others that would benefit many communities. I hope to receive a prompt response. Regards, Eloy Brito Viamonte Retired Engineer Specialist in Electrical Power Systems and Theoretical Physicist
- I really enjoyed it. Bill Gates’s speech was enlightening to learn about the challenges of the area in question. Also, it is really encouraging to see how billionaires have a truly beautiful heart to help people’s needs. In good time and my best wishes to the organization Maria Isabel Arredondo Icardo
- I propose direct meeting instead of virtual.
- i would like to know the different opportunities in climate change, like courses to undertake or work.

- How can women/men be motivated to have less children and more children to survive?
- nothing about else
- To the above question (12), I am interested in future in-person sessions if organized in or near my country.
- Thank you Bill Gates, Uduak Amimo, UoN, and other people involved in the success of this event.
- No it was amazing
- organize more events with such billionaires

- I’m a student and I’m really broke, I need help.
- More opportunities for virtual participants to ask questions.
- Thank you to the organizers for this honor to bring in for us one of the most influential and looked up people to talk to us .

- Do your best to accommodate more participants in person
- When can we have a session at another university too, this time i Uganda.
- Simplify program presentation and step up questioning
- Mitigation ways and global warming effect.
- Very interactive session which was very educative and indulging though I wished some topics were not satisfactorily tackled like the role of wealthy people in food supply chain and food security in the world.
- How can we bring more people like Bill Gate to fund research?
- Congratulations on a well done event!
- Needs more time Provide more statistics
- overall, the event was quite good and what i’d really like to say is that, kenya & Africa as a whole, is very much ready for such conversations even though we, as a continent still have a long way to go in the quest for alleviating poverty.
- Bill gates is a big name and should have given the students some hope in terms of future likely research
- Such events should target a bigger audience to create awareness on issues affecting us.
- I feel Mr. Gates, being the center of attention for the event, should have been properly prepared to handle the topic of the day appropriately. He funds the foundation to execute projects even in Agriculture but as an individual, he’s not so much versed with this sector. Next time bring an expert. I’d be more comfortable listening to Mr. Gates addressing matters such as creating opportunities for the young people in developing worlds with his technical knowhow. He’s a computer guru, I suppose.
- Concrete solutions to the climate crisis
- This survey only captured the participants or those who tried accessing the event not those who missed it like myself. I would have loved to watch the recorded session.
- I already have the link to the youtube so Am okay.
- The duration was short, questions should be chosen more wisely.
- If possible than about do this event work.
- Problem driven or solution driven for best of best management from specific to general application in Agriculture or climate change…
- This event was a great opportunity for the young people to have their most desired questions answered by the World’s renown innovator and hopefully next time, it’d be more ‘equalizing” if more women in innovation were brought on board as well because as it is, there are lots of issues that needs to be addressed. All in all, I am still excited to have attended this hybrid event and am looking forward to more of such. I learnt a lot! Whoa! Can’t believe it’s me who attended this event!!!! Cheers!
- It was well organized, only time was limited
- How can we apply for funding Assistance on gender based violence in the event
- it was a very initiative now it should be perpetuated at the level of the major universities in africa increase increase the timing do a session with a 60-minute break it’s not much thanks to the africa com team especially Teresa Clarke
- Very educative
- Can’t say much but ready to participate at anything or meeting
- We should also talk about the drug addicts and high crime rate in the society
- Appreciated have participated in the webinar, wish the students at the University of Nairobi and Gates foundation have more close commercial and academic cooperation to advance the current energy systems.
- From the COP27 together for implementation, climate adaptation is very important and that could be achieve through education, the event is educative and interactive. Thank you for the opportunity to learn.
- People singing introduced the local culture to audiences likes me
- GMO is not the solution
- Yes. I would love for the conversation on climate change to be held on regional levels too, as a follow up to this event. I would be very much available to work with you on having one in West Africa, on site or virtual, or both. It’s about time Africa got enlightened about climate change and it’s government responsible in taking measures to combat climate change and especially for adaptation. Thank you!
- When planning massive virtual conference, work on bandwidth first.
- Keep up the good work!
- It was excelent event
- It was super great and the information was interesting and now we need to see implementation by inclusion of youth in creating green world.
- Allow nore time, invite experts in areas to be covered
- To include even primary level and secondary level participants
- Yes, Have attended the event where Mr. Bill Gates, was personally there. He’s such a Great Person.
- I think we need more research on the area and also collaborate with government and how we can empower the youth on Agri-business and improve on supply chain and marketing
- it will be better to attend live meeting
- Slides of the event should be sent to our mails for recap and we can use it to motivate others to join next one.
- Not for now
- Considering Mr. Gates limited schedule, found the time permitted for questions and answers was utilized very effectively…
- Just involve real stakeholders like farmers, forest rangers and people informal settlement
- It should be rotated among the African countries, and probably, the organizers should have model farms in African countries to contribute practically to the much needed solutions to food security.
- Address another/critical agendas of the world which challenges humans life.
- Africa.com is doing a great job on raising awareness and finding solutions to social justice matters on the continent.
- Next event make it a bit longer and with more panelists
- great work, thanks
- To intergrate more stakeholders especially in the food production and value addiition chain.

- Change the venue. I would avoid a university because it can be intimidating to some who would otherwise attend and participate.
- Maybe more details on sourcing of improved breeds, etc
- I liked that the VC UON spoke without a script. Why did you have coca-cola on the table? Overall good meeting, thank you
- I am an African agronomist and have passion to participate in project that will add value to my environment
- Please, let’s start talking about leadership that will bring about growth and prosperity for Africa. Let’s start talking about true independence for Africa as we are still so reliant on the west. Africa has to take the bull by the horn and chart it’s own development course… we MUST DO THIS. Well done to Africa.com
- Thank you for you efforts to help needy people.
- First let me to thank for your efforts to help world people to make awareness for food security and benefits the gas in order to green the world and make shortage the disaster of mankind’s. Of course, I kindly request malind gates foundation to take of me And my family to Somalia, because we in disappeared our lives. Thanks so much. Regards
- Thanks for the event
- The event was well arranged and well done, Thank you and God bless you as you continue to support our communities in Kenya
- Good time management.
- Thank you for the presentation
- Yes…training on innovation
- Address the small scale farmers directly. There is a gap between research and fieldwork- people who need the information don´t get it.
- Nothing
- Not at the moment
- Is there a recording of the event as I had Internet connectivity issues during the lecture and was disconnected?
- It was great
- very well-done and proud of where technology capabilities are expanding broadly and beyond.
- satisfied its just that i got to learn so many things with the event
- Well organised and timely , I hope similar events are lined up in future
- The event has to go beyond this; like inviting experts, policy makers, institutes of the public , NGOs and others to share their ideas with in few minutes
- It was such an eye-opening session and I think what youth lack in this forum is the opportunity to be able to penetrate the market and impact positive yet dynamic techniques to combat the problems that exist.
- I wish to take this opportunity to thank the organizers of the event for the effort and reaching out to millions in Africa. You only get to know what you can add value yo your household, communities, nations and Africa at large through such valuable events.
- Only to congrats for the encouragement
- I wish that next time I could attend a physical one due to poor Internet connection.
- Looking forward to more such events.
- more time needed
- The event was a success. I just wish that Bill Gates will organize an exchange program where we could visit his country and learn more from them on Food security and Climate change. It was very informative. Thanks
- Great job team
- Society cannot achieve it’s full potential in development among the youth without existence of carregiuos transformative leaders
- Good to know measures are being put in place in Kenya to deal with food insecurity.
- Be done more than once in a year
- Make sure everyone can access the link to the meeting
- Contextualise to fit contemporary rural situations
- It was impressive and instructive, that Mr. Gates was there in person and this showed his commitment to improve the world around him.
- Please share the details of the course and recording of the session. Thank you
- Increase Inclusiveness to include rural forks. By way of focus group discussions.
- Consider hosting Bill Gates in West African Universities also.
- 希望有更多地机会与大家交流,由于某些的原因不能更好的与大家交流,希望可以得到大家的帮助,可以分享一些有用的邮箱,让我多一些交流的机会。
- Thanks for organising it!
- Thank you for organizing!
- AM REQUSTING FOR THE BILL GATES PRESENTATION THAT WAS DONE IF YOU RECORDED IT. THANK YOU
- Help benefiting empowerment poor people in Africa grassroots pace to pace
- The engagement with the on-line audience could have started earlier to avoid eating in the 1 hour available to interact with Gates
- Well attended. Bill &?Gate Foundation should focus more on supporting small reserch & production in foods — institutions based in in the rural areas communities.
- Invitations should be sent to those who participated in this hybrid session early next year, preferably to participate in the live session next year. Hopefully, the selected participants would have travel tickets and accommodation. I prefer Live sessions to virtual ones.
- Yes. I believe the foundation should continue investing in research. Science is key to eliminating extreme human suffering.
- Endevour in engaging more stakeholders to enable dissiminate information.
- How do we get material and financial support through Gates foundation to actualize our projects.. contacts+254 780840216

- It was encouraging and enjoyable
- I am looking forward to attending other events, but not sure how to find out about them.
- I like and appreciate the effort by Africa.com and its partners have put in to bring this event to people around the globe.
- Well the event was fantastic and very encouraging especially to me as an under graduate student
- Id like more such events in future.
- Yes; Bill Gate should expound more on GMOs in Africa
- Share with me the audio
- My advice is that such meeting to happen quarterly
- The event was participatory and evidence based with statistics and encouraging young people to have more knowledge on climate change through innovations.
- Thank you for the opportunity. As a research I hope to achieve this funds to conduct our tasks at RCoL/IIAM Mozambique
- May u be blessed.
- Share calender of upcoming events.
- Actually, as a Chinese, I think the whole world share a same destiny. So the topic food security and climate change is not only related to African people or some people facing these problems in this world, but also the whole world. No countries can escape this topic. Therefore, more and more countries, NGO, or other organizations should try their best to act and even the smallest power from our normal people also can distribute our efforts in our daily life, for example don’t waste food and green transportation and so on. That’s all.
- Questions that were sent in with registrations were not addressed
- Better Local organization committee and commitments.
- Is a recording available
- How about Tanzania?
- Next time it should be broadcasted on TV stations.
- Very interesting.
- Create more time for question and answers ,allow time for reactions or further clarification where a question leads to another question..let all areas touched in the theme be covered.Dont overdwell on one area.
- Great lecture
- The innovation for food security event was really helpful
- I just have some doubtful idea, it has been long time since global warming issues rose however we found that was due to new innovation and creation, I am wondering if our generation will be able to eradicate this issue totally as we developing countries we need at least to be on the same level as developed ones. On my point, I would like to mobilize our country to stick on our cultures, and preserve our traditional customs as well as our traditionally trees or environment.
- Climate mitigation financing should be given a priority
- it should be be organised in a way the message will reach more people
- Next time I would wish to have a chance to attend the event physically.
- Thanks
- Well informed
- Nice presentation; well done to all the organizers
- Events like this are very important because we get to interact with people from different parts of the words with different perspectives and our world and environment
- Have it hosted outside an academic set-up…it is about agriculture and the audience needs to feel comfortable unles it is targeting students and dons.
- It was well done thanks, to the organizers
- Pilot events that will warm up for the main event are necessary so that the audience is well-prepared for the topic.
- Looking forward for another one in person
- Well managed event.
- It was a great experience
- Knowing it’s a visit once in a span of time, the speaker should be given more time to talk on the selected topic then answer questions later. Also coming prepared with questions not covered left me hanging. But it was much honor to have him sacrifice his time to come speak to us. Hope he will come back to talk more on that theme.
- Good job. keep it up.
- I am very thankful that I got a chance to attend this meeting it has been fruitful enough to share with our communities.
- It was an informative event, thank you and keep up the good work.
- It will be interesting to witness inspired youth in the plenary
- I suggest next time a conference should be hosted and include researchers.
- The recent floods and their devastating effects on our farmlands and landscape affirm the concerns. Is great now world Billionaire Bill Gates is picking up the implementation to address the root cause of the problem
- Thank you- for the analysis shared on participation and interest before the event
- I wish Bill foundation of scholarships could be started at UoN in Kenya. Like Cambridge University
- Help me to achieve my dream
- Bill Gate should stop telling Africans on GMOS. African should protect and conserve its biodiversity in terms of Organic and Indigenous foods.
- I think such events should be held more frequently and on a rotational basis at the same time country experiences should be tabled
- The event was eye openning and very infortative espectially to the you people in terms of positioning themselves.
- Do focus on local solutions
- I understand and appreciate control of such events (i really do) and even ‘choreography’ but when it is too obvious it could curtail natural flow and instead of participating people end up waiting for instruction – perhaps could have tried a different approach
- Yes, adequate time to be allocated to address all questions including pre conference questions. Also, guidelines on how a person how is involved with climate change activities can be supported to access vital information and financial or material.
- It was excellent
- The event was very inspiring right from the first invitation I received from Africa.com It’s always an honour to attend your online events. I am not only learning but also taking ACTION. Thank You
- Be able to handle more questions from the audience and not pre-selected questions.
- The event was moderated successfully
- It would be nice if such events were carried annualy. This would enlighten the current generation more.
- It is important to engage stakeholders without necessarily involving politicians
- The person/Bill Gates or other guests share their young ages experience and prepare the session in other countries of Africa with other guests who contribute/support the challenges in Africa
- Thank you for having me.
- Thank you very much for making in a hybrid event and extending the invitation to others country-wide and world-wide 🙂 We all had the opportunity to learn new things – which is how we can all work together for positive change 🙂
- Bill Gates foundation should continue it’s collaboration and look on solutions to curb low food production.
- I suggest more of such events around Africa targeted at countries that have the natural resources and capabilities but not fully utilised. It will certainly wakeup the youth and private hands.
- I wish human being could be human to their fellow people.
- My research focuses on food security. Food security is the sum of availability, access, utilization, and sustainability. I believe there is enough food in the planet to feed the entire world’s population. The issue is one of accessibility. It makes little difference if we achieve the green revolution if we do not consider accessibility and other aspects of food security. What is the plan to help everyone to access the available food? is what matters.
- Have another panelist would have been great too
- Expand the program more and more especially in east african country
- Mr. Gate should speak in many Universities and Community Colleges in the USA and mobilize young generation and show them he is the opposite of conspiring media, hope not true of what they say about him. hope you understand what I am saying.
- Share with me the preceding of the meeting and give certificate of participation
- I prefer face to face sponsorship program internships in future . We are interested with the good program of Bill Gates foundation however I have never been to any advanced coming up technology of virtual programs.
- The Event Awakened my personal EFFORTS to the Solutions of the humanity challenges.
- Keep doing it, and if possible some facilitation fee
- As the world experiences increasingly severe climate impacts on agricultural production, many of our food systems are being pushed to the breaking point. In short, climate change is putting food production at risk. Yield growth for wheat, maize, and other crops has been declining in many countries due to extreme heat, severe weather, and droughts. By some estimates, in the absence of effective adaptation, global yields could decline by up to 30 percent by 2050. Countries that are already grappling with conflict, pollution, deforestation, and other challenges are likely to suffer the brunt of these impacts I truly thank Bill gates & the team for their tireless efforts to creat awareness around the world about climate change & it’s impact We are also asking for support to enable us reach the world with the same message
- The event was awesome.
- Just to conclude that, thevevent was too successful and met my expectations
- broader participation from the organizations engaged in food security and climate change. Questions that delve deeper into this pertinent subject with our context in clear focus
- Thanks for Naorobi University
- This type of event need to be continuously prepared based on the revolution of creativity and innovation as African Continent to win poverty, to prove food security, to develop the whole African countries, independent ans so on. Esayas Chemeda Deressa. Finfinne, Oromia
- To stopped birth in africa people
- It was a very good events which helps me a lot
- Well not exactly about the event but, how could we get something like this to happen in west Africa here, precisely, Nigeria. I’m a student of the American University of Nigeria, it’ll be amazing to know what plans Africa.com has in store.
- Share presentations if any Recognise people advocating against food insecurity and climate change
- I just hope the money that Bill Gates promised to donate will go to the intended purpose and that the efforts will serve to end hunger in Kenya, Africa and the World at large. Bill should establish like a follow-up program, a smart program, that he can see how the money is being used to avoid wastage and mismanagement of it.
- Live interaction in online
- Thank you for the event.
- Without financial and some support nothing you can do.
- This event is also needed in Uganda , so that our people can also be helped
- Kindly. Start with the global picture and do your home works and then address local challenges in hat context. Get subject experts on the platform, not selfie seekers.
- The events is very educative and there was so much that I’ve learned. Thanks to Bill gates and for all the event’s organizers.
- It was generally okay
- Amimo was very good she was straight to the question and tried as much as possible to ask the questions without wasting time very efficient indeed.
- Kindly could they consider the younger generation even the teens they were in the forum doing great things in innovation but not considered 12yrs to16 yrs listen to them give them a chance
- Thanks for the event. It was so educative and I liked the time keeping of Bill Gates.
- Insightful questions would have stretched Bill Gates to provide detailed analysis of his research activities. Rather than the casual questions he was made to respond to.
- Well articulated. Innovation is the way to go
- Im a student in the university of Nairobi studying Bsc in Meteorology. Does the foundation offer sponsorship if youvwant to do masters in climate.
- I enjoy the opportunities you present. Especially hearing great people speak live.
- Can the main speaker have a speech which articulates his plan and ideas. Sometimes interviews/question have gaps.
- Let’s have a lot more of these sessions in African Countries.
- Given our teaming youths more opportunities likes of job’s, internships, scholarships and volunteers in any of gates foundation organization, Thank You for the opportunity

- I appreciatec that it was available to the public and free to attend virtually.
- The event was well, the speaker himself is a time keeper and he was loud enough in an extend that even us virtual attendance we were more interested with the event
- Will I be able to see it taped since I was unable to view it this morning?
- Congratulations to Mr. Gates for his initiatives on our country’s green economy and reduction of children under 5 mortality rate in Makueni.
- Am glad for the motivation
- Congratulations on hosting a successful event
- Awesome initiative keep it rolling and thank you for allowing to be part of this.
- I would like the option to use an avatar instead of camera recording my image for safety reasons.
- Keep motivating young people and solving our world problems
- Yes. Keep the registration open in can one still gets time to join in the middle can do so without difficulties
- It was very informative looking forward to the next one
- The questions asked seemed pre-set. They barely touched on the topic of the day with pressing issues and hard questions being avoided. In general, the event was more of a ‘mentorship’ and an opportunity for the students to marvel.
- The need to demystify climate change so that grassroot communities relate how climate change affects their lives on a day to day basis. My grandmother in a remote village should be able to appreciate why she should fear climate change
- I recommend more such events.
- In an institution in which I work the National Commission for Civic Education, it will me develop much untapped agricultural ideas to youth engagement in the country.
- About students in Nairobi University. Young people around the world including Japan share the same ideas and opinions; we are mankind after all. I hope that there will be no boundaries between the countries by sharing ideas and communicating each other via the internet and technology.

- I did not exactly understand how Gates foundation ensures inclusion in their intiatives such as funding. There are alot of interested parties from institutions to individuals levels, how do they ensure no-one is left out? How about those people who feel they are less known and might have zero access to participation in gates initiatives. Personally, I have alot to give but accessibility is a big question.
- Bill talked about the small farm he toured, would love to have seen pics or short video.
- We need more participation and presentation of really farmers taking part in such meeting .
- Let’s make future presentation more of research. With powerpoint slides for reference especially when dealing with university audience that is more in research. Theoretical/ Concetual framework ,methodology then summary conclusions and recommendations
- Engage more

- Just amazing.
- I love the fact that young people are included in the movement to find solutions for climate change and the birth of such an event is great, however let there be points of action rather than just a talk. Create opportunities from such an event that we can move forward. Many of us, we would want to be more active but there is lack of starting point and perhaps this would be remedied with the approach to such events changing. Either reducing the number of participants to have a few but very interested individuals getting a move to start changing there communities, or adding more hours to solicit inclusion for all participants
- It was a great event but i expected to here more of water provision in mostly part of the country….. For us to be able to grow the indigineuos crops en trees
- If questions have been collected no need to have audience ask questions again. The interviewer should just do it

- Support for innovations for youth in food security and climate change did not come out well
- The event was well coordinated and am hoping that we will have similar events in the near future.
- i enjoyed the discussions and they are quite pertinent to surrent issues , would also help if the government would be in the panel to answer these questions and make commitments to how they are addresing issues such as climate change in the country , why we do not invest more in buidling water reservoirs and how we can stop people dying of hunger every single year .
